Make room for the everyday good.

A note from Hearth & Plot

For the homes we have, and the ones we’re making.

Hearth & Plot is a new guide to the practical side of home and garden life. We believe helpful advice should be easy to follow, honest about its limits, and respectful of different budgets and spaces.

01

Useful first

Each guide should leave you with a clear next step, a realistic amount of work, and a sense of what to watch for.

02

Room for real life

Homes are lived in. Gardens change with weather, seasons, and location. We aim to make advice adaptable rather than one size fits all.

03

Clear about money

How we approach a guide

Clear steps, with context.

We write for ordinary homes and small spaces, then check factual guidance against sources such as university extension programs and public agencies. We link to those sources in guides where they support a specific recommendation. Conditions vary by home, climate, equipment, and plant, so each guide points out decisions you should make for your own situation.

Our images are illustrations created for Hearth & Plot. They show ideas and settings, not projects we claim to have completed or products we have tested.

Start somewhere small

There’s always a good first step.
